Belgian Red Cross-Flanders is an active movement of committed, dynamic, and well trained volunteers. Red Cross activities, which are a lifeline for many vulnerable people, are only possible thanks to the dedication of these individuals. Our achievements are detailed in our annual reports.

Januari 3th 2010; the New Year Dip in Ostend. Every year, thousands of ‘polar bears’ celebrate the New Year with a dip in the ice-cold sea water. Red Cross volunteers man the first aid post, mainly treating symptoms of hypothermia and fall-related injuries.
Children from disadvantaged families go on a week-long camp with the Red Cross. They are pampered and looked after by voluntary Red Cross monitors.
